Who We Are
Hello! My name is Thijs Albers. I founded Nova Machina based on my old hobby projects getting rather out of hand! My life-long experimentation with mechanics, crossed with my studies in physics and mathematics led me to develop Gaia.
Even though the pursue of Gaia came from passion for tech, the inception of Nova Machina was fuelled by a sense of responsibility. The world moves to embrace the magic of AI, but I fear for the combination of AI and exoskeleton tech. If exoskeleton tech are the mechanics we wear to help us; AI powered exoskeleton tech means living extremely near AI.
My proposition against this is Gaia. Gaia’s protocols are an extremely potent, but narrow operating system that can listen to the human but not function without him. As an analogy, think of a bicycle. It is because of intelligent design that fits the human form that bikes are so useful. But leave your bike outside and it is a passive object; more tool than machine. This is what we aim for with our exo-tech; the ultimate intuitive tool, not a wearable AI robot.
